I heard about this great little program on MacBreak Weekly this past week called Omni DiskSweeper. It’s made by Omni Group and is a free download. Sorry PC people, this is a Mac-only app. What it does is look at your hard drive and show you what certain folders and files are taking up on the disk. On the initial scan I found over 14Gb being used by Adobe Soundbooth to store random “untitled wav” files. I guess it stores back up copies of anything recorded just in case. Well, I deleted all that as quickly as possible. I also found about a Gig and a half in a folder belonging to a program I don’t even have anymore, so I deleted that as well. I love finding all this extra space. So far I’m up to 30Gb of free space and I will continue to look for more that can be freed up.
