Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day, everyone.

Today was pretty uneventful. I slept late (something I have been wanting to do for quite some time lately). My dad had a barbecue of which I partook, and then I spent most of the day uploading pictures to Flickr. In fact, I’ve put several hundred photos up there in the past few days. Check em out.

In other news, my legs feel a lot better today. I can actually walk with only minor discomfort and barely any limp. Stairs are still a bit though, and I can’t put excessive strain on them. Significant improvement over Saturday and Sunday, though. I’d like to call out of work tomorrow and just say that I’m still in too much pain, but I don’t think I should probably do that. I’ll try to make it through the day. There is a lot of kneeling and bending over in my job, so we’ll see how it works out.

Anyway, that is all for today. Thanks to all of our troops who have fought in any of our wars, putting their lives on the line for our protection and freedom. We could never thank you enough.

Sanctuary Podcast

Sanctuary Podcast for 05/13/2007 is up.

In other news, we should have a new weekly podcast up and running within the next few weeks, and are planning a monthly show-style podcast in the not-too-distant future.

That is all. Peace be with you.

Stalk 2.0

Ok, so I got to work and I think I like it even better than It seems to work really well and I also got my old video camera to hook up so I can send video that isn’t right up in my face via iSight.

I’ll broadcast from time to time at the following URL:

Hopefully UStream also works out some things with WordPress and Virb so that I can embed the video feed right in there to make it easier for people.

Ok, it’s late and I’m tired. Peace be with you.

A whole new way to stalk

I was referred to this website from another blog and it seems like it’s a pretty addicting. It lets you stream live video over the Internet for free as well as offer free video conferencing. I have to say this is the most stalkerish (most stalkerish?) website that I’ve seen out there, but I think I really enjoy it. You will eventually be able to put a badge displaying the live video feed into your other blogs or social networking sites, but only a few are available now (Xanga, Friendster, etc). Hopefully they work out deals with WordPress and Virb in the not too distant future. I admit it’s a bit weird for everyone to be able to see what you’re doing, but it’s intriguing at the same time.

Another site that functions along the same lines is I tried it out but was having a horrid time trying to get it to actually let me send out a feed. Stickam worked pretty seamlessly and effortlessly. I’ll keep at UStream and see what develops, but let’s hope Stickam keeps up the good work and makes it even better in the near future.

Media moguls & perfect afternoons

It appears I have been somewhat busy today with all kinds of media creation. First off, let me say that today takes the phrase “Beautiful Day” to a whole new level. U2 has to have been the theme for April 30, 2007. The weather was perfect out. Warm, but not hot. No humidity. Sunlight all over the place. Amazing.

I went to an Elizabeth High girl’s Varsity softball game today. I was going to watch one of our youth from The Bridge. I didn’t see her. Turns out I went to the wrong field. Oops. Well, it was a good game anyway. Elizabeth won (go home team!). I decided to take pictures and video of the game and have posted them online for all to see.

Also added are pictures from The Connexion‘s April Arts festival from last Sunday. We had people come up and share their art for the whole service. Singers, songwriters, dancers, drawers, painters, poets… you name it. It was a big celebration of everything art. We have some video available too, but I will have to work on that a bit later.

A collection of all the images uploaded (well over 100) are available on my Flickr account.

Also, The Sanctuary podcast is up and running from this week. I taught. I think it went ok. I have to listen to it to know for sure. I did go long. 45 minutes long, I think. Ah well. You can find The Sanctuary Podcast here.

Well, you have enough media to last you quite awhile. Enjoy.

Peace be with you.
